Throughout my career as an artist, I have constructed three-dimensional objects and two-dimensional textural surfaces in order to paint on and into them. These objects include lamps, curtains, chairs as well as completely non-objective forms.

The Insect series is painted on paper and cement. The cement is utilized to give the paintings texture, form, and depth. I chose insects as a subject matter because I find them fascinating and beautiful. In creating theses paintings, I was challenged by the idea of making a recognizable image in an expressive and personal way.
