The democratization inherent in public art is very appealing to me. Art that is free and accessible in a community is beneficial to the larger society as members of the public are challenged to think and converse about art and aesthetics. The process of completing a public art piece involves many meetings with numerous people and committees. This collaboration becomes an integral part of the art. My involvement with city and state officials during the creation of art works for public display has informed my artwork.
