The varied liGHTProject series continues my career-long exploration of constructing three-dimensional forms in order to paint them. In each of these series, I value the light source as an artistic medium to the same extent as the forms or colors. In all of the liGHTProjects, I am challenged to make aesthetic decisions regarding the lighting and fixtures which affect shadows, transparency, and color layering.

The Sconce series alludes to my prior abstract paintings. In this series, I combine various materials, layers of paint, and one light source in order to create pieces that hang on the wall, much like paintings. They are an examination of the play between the range of gray and luminosity.
